Rohail Hyatt is making a comeback to Coke Studio after parting ways in 2014; the music producer has delivered six successful seasons before, so people have high hopes for season 12.
Many were upset when the highly anticipated music show didn’t show up on their TV screens on August 14 with a patriotic anthem featuring all the artists, but the good news has settled dedicated fans in a state of anticipation instead.
It’s likely that the delay after Independence Day was due to other national holidays being too close to Ashura, but we can expect to see the first episode of season 12 in early October.
Hyatt has revealed that Atif Aslam will be an “integral” part of this season.
Aslam says he has “been working on a number of compositions, and genres will range from Zikr to Khayal Gayeki and more”.
The show may also feature performances from Momina Mustehsan, Ali Sethi and Abrar-ul-Haq. Rumor has it that Sahir Ali Bagga, Aima Baig, and Zeb Bangash will also be a part of the lineup.
