What happened : At least three rockets hit near the presidential palace shortly before Afghan President Ashraf Ghani was to give an address to mark the Muslim holiday of Eid-al-Adha. There were no injuries, and the rockets landed outside the heavily fortified palace grounds.
Details : The rocket flew past heavily fortified Green Zone that houses the presidential palace and several embassies, including the US mission. It was the first rocket attack on Kabul since the Taliban launched a series of offensives to coincide with the final drawdown of foreign troops from the region. Yet, there was no immediate claim of responsibility.
