Real estate joins NFT world: The first ‘MetaReal’ mansion to be build in Miami

What happened: On Jan 5, ONE Sotheby’s International Realty, in cooperation with Voxel Architects and NFT collector Gabe Sierra, announced plans to build the first ever ‘MetaReal’ mansion in Miami by mid 2022.  The project: The property will be constructed on a one-acre lot in one of Miami’s most elite districts. The Sandbox Metaverse, a community-driven platform where creators can monetise voxel assets on the blockchain, will house the partial virtual home and the other half of it includes the real world. It will have a total area of 11,000 square feet, with seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms. In 2022, the ‘MetaReal’ mansion will be auctioned off for a confidential fixed price. Michael Martinez, ONE Sotheby’s exclusive sales agent for the project, informed that the transaction will be completed on the Ethereum blockchain.  More: The physical residence will also be purchased by the buyer of the NFT asset, while talking to Forbes, Sierra stated: “The metaverse counterpart of the home will act as an extension of the real-world home, allowing the buyer to conduct in-home meetings, events, and parties with guests from around the world.”
