Punjab Police once again recommends banning PUBG after teenager murders family

What happened: On February 9, the Punjab Pollice once again recommended a ban on the online game PUBG. The ban on PUBG was recommended after a teenager allegedly gunned down four members of his family in Lahore’s Kahna area. Subsequently, the Punjab police advised the local government to impose the ban on PUBG as Express Tribune reported,  “Immediate ban on PUBG nearly two weeks after the quadruple murder of a family at the hands of a teenager in Lahore shocked the nation.”

Details: It is pertinent to mention the demand for a ban on PUBG cam after an 18-year-old from Lahore killed members of his family and the local police alleged that he was a PUBG addict. Whereas, the AIG Operations Police wrote a letter to the home department.

More: The letter to the home department was quoted by Express Tribune as,  “The quadruple murder of a family cannot be conveniently adjudged as a plain-text crime. This violent crime is linked with isolationist tendencies associated with the addiction of the multiplayer game.”  At the same time, the letter added,  “It is evident that obsessive indulgences of youth in violent online games like PUBG and Fortnite is introducing into young minds of the players a sense of comfort with violence leading to criminal tendencies.”
