Punjab Government Considers Artificial Rain to Tackle Smog Crisis

Following an increase in hazardous levels of smog on Thursday, the provincial government considered artificial rain as a quick solution to the health emergency.

Due to an increase of rain over the week, levels of toxic and hazardous smog across Punjab and in particular, in Lahore increased. This forced the Punjab government to hold a meeting on Thursday under the chair of Commissioner Lahore Division Asif Bilal Lodhi. This is where the idea of artificial rain was initially bought up as he claimed that the government was in talks about this and would execute it should the smog levels get worse. The Commissioner Lahore Division stated that the smog has become a serious obstacle for Lahore and there was an immediate need for preventative and remedial policy due to the effects the smog is having on the public’s health. He further emphasised a ban on crop-burning and restricting emissions from vehicles and industrial units. Keep up to date with more news at ProperGaanda: Hamza Ali Abbasi Quits Acting For Good
