What happened: On April 3, TheNews’s Mehtab Haider quoted the Labor Force Survey by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, disclosing that #KhyberPakhtunkhwa tops for having an 8.8% of #unemployment rate highest among all the provinces. However, according to the report, a decline in the unemployment rate at the national level was witnessed. Details: TheNews quoted the report as, “The unemployment rate in Pakistan improved and stood at 6.3% in 2020-2021 against 6.9% in 2018-2019.” Further noting that despite the federal government’s rule in KP, the unemployment rate has gone up. Whereas, the unemployment rate in Punjab is at 6.8%, and in Sindh, the unemployment rate is as low as 3.9%.In Balochistan, the unemployment rate is at 4.3%, which saw an increase since the rate the previous fiscal year.
