PTI Tweets in Hindi and Twitter goes GAGA!

On Monday, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s official account tweeted Prime Minister Imran Khan’s message in Hindi and Twitterati on both sides of the border went crazy.

Sharing Imran’s earlier tweet on Nobel Prize, PTI tweeted: “मैं नोबेल शांति पुरस्कार के योग्य नहीं हूं। इस योग्य व्यक्ति वह होगा जो कश्मीरी लोगों की इच्छा के अनुसार कश्मीर विवाद का समाधान करता है और उपमहाद्वीप में शांति और मानव विकास का मार्ग प्रशस्त करता है।.”

The hindi tweet translates to:

“I am not worthy of the Nobel Peace Prize. This worthy person will be the one who resolves Kashmir dispute according to Kashmiri people’s wishes and paves the way for peace and human development in the subcontinent .. “

While many thought the tweet went against Pakistan’s cultural norms, somebody wrote that Hindi is just a medium of communication

Another person tweeted, “Brothers its ok as we have many Indian friends who read this & are impressed. No problem in language even in Hindi we should use all ways of communications & in all the languages.”

Replying the tweet in Hindi, one user from Nepal wrote: “सर आप बहुत हिँ अछे आदमी है कास आप हि जैसे सोच नेह बला सब होते तोह कासमिर केह लोग पर जुल्म नहि होते अल्लाह आप को सलाम रखे from nepal” which states Imran Khan is a good man and not one to oppress people.

Praising Imran Khan, one commentator wrote: “عمران خان کو نوبل پرائز کی ضرورت نہیں کیونکہ وہ خود ایک نوبل (عظیم) انسان ھیں,!!⁦⁩

Translation: “Imran Khan does not need a Nobel Prize because he himself is a great human!”

And while many praised the Khan, the real winner is the following comment “This is the real surgical strike on India.”
