Due to differences on the issue of resignations from the assemblies, the Pakistan Democratic Movement’s (PDM) long march set to take place on March 26 has been postponed.
JUI-F’s stance: While addressing a press conference after a brief meeting of the PDM in Islamabad, JUI-F chief Fazlur Rehman said the PPP has ‘reservations’ over linking the resignations with the long march and has sought time to hold consultations within its Central Executive Committee (CEC) before informing the PDM of its decision.
“We have given them the chance and we will await their decision. Until then, the March 26 long march will be considered postponed,” said the JUI-F leader while furiously walking away from the press conference.
Arguments between PML-N and PPP: Moreover, during the PDM meeting, PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari allegedly asked PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif to come back to Pakistan which reportedly led to a heated exchange between Maryam Nawaz and Asif Zardari.
Meanwhile, Yousaf Raza Gilani said that the PPP has conveyed to the PDM “If you want us to hand in resignations, give us some time. We will go back to the CEC, take their approval and get back to you.”

Nawaz’s Reaction: Nawaz Sharif on the other hand, laughed in response to a journalist’s question about his views on Asif Ali Zardari asking him to come back to Pakistan.
