What happened: A Twitter user shared in a tweet that she and her daughter were standing on the signal before the GOR 1 on Lahore’s Mall Road when the police officer made inappropriate signals and allegedly harassed the mother-daughter duo on one of Lahore’s busiest roads. The Twitter user also shared the pictures of the alleged Lahore Traffic Police Officer trying to harass the duo at the signal. Details: Subsequently, a local media platform, in an interview with Public Relations Officer Rana Arif, quoted, “The police officer Sami Ullah, has been suspended and an inquiry is underway. Next action will be taken as inquiry report.” At the same time, Rana Arif in the interview added that the CCTV footage will be looked at before making any further decisions in this regard.
