Police find remains in oven after bakery owner killed labourer in Haripur

What happened?

On Tuesday, the police recovered the burnt body of a missing 40-year-old labourer from the oven of a bakery in Khalabat Township. The victim’s remains were recovered from a kiln while the bakery owner Malik Safeer was arrested and taken into police custody.

The man, identified Syed Jan Agha Kochi went missing on Sunday hence his family filed a complaint with the police and also made an announcement in the area. The police maintained that the suspect, Malik Safeer confessed that he shot Agha dead over a financial dispute. He then burnt his body in the oven of his bakery, while his mobile phone and other belongings were buried in a graveyard.

What else does the police have to say?

The police shifted the remains of the deceased to the Haripur Trauma Centre SHO Farman said that samples of the remains of the body will be sent to Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) in Peshawar for a DNA test. The forensic experts will also give a report on the murder weapon, he said.
