According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Prime Minister Imran Khan will virtually address a high-level panel of the United Nations on International Financial Accountability, Transparency, and Integrity, today.

The event is being organized to present the panel’s interim report, which recognizes the significant gaps in implementation and the systemic shortcomings of the existing international frameworks for tax cooperation, anti-corruption, and anti-money laundering.

The event will provide a forum to discuss priority actions that should be taken on identified challenges, “particularly in light of the impact of the Covid-19 crisis on progress towards the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.”

In addition to this meeting, Pakistan and Chile are co-hosting an  event titled, “Poverty at Crossroad: Using Leadership and the Multidimensional Poverty Index to Build Back Better.” Radio Pakistan reported.

Special Assistant on Poverty Alleviation Dr. Sania Nishtar will also address this high-level event, virtually. Whereas,  Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on the sidelines of the United Nation general assembly session, will speak through video link at the SAARC Ministerial conference.
