What happened: On Feb 21, Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, the Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) stated: “According to a Transparency International survey, Imran Khan’s Naya Pakistan is the most corrupt Pakistan,” he remarked at a workers’ convention in Peshawar. Details: The PPP chairman was referring to his party’s split with the Pakistan Democratic Movement over a strategy to depose the current government, which eventually resulted in the PDM’s expulsion from the multi-party coalition. The resentment dissipated earlier this month when the opposition decided on a strategy and pledged to assist each other’s efforts to defeat the ruling party. What’s next: According to Bilawal, his party is planning to organise a march on Feb 27, “This will be Pakistan history’s largest march which will weaken the ruling government,” adding that once the march arrives in Islamabad, it would be impossible for the PTI to handle it.
