Pakistan’s first female MMA fighter, Anita Karim, got a warm welcome at the Islamabad International Airport. Youths of different age group welcomed her in large numbers.

The Shining athlete hails from Hunza and came out victorious on Thursday; at the One Warrior Series (OWS).

In spite of the sport still being new and heavily male dominated, athletes like Anita are giving more power to females breaking stereotypes. The shining athlete trained only for one year prior to the competition; when Anita stepped inside the ring for the first time, she took down her opponent in under 5 seconds.

Unfortunately due to the sport being male dominated, Anita’s doesn’t have a female trainer nor were there any other female competitors. 

Learning from her past experience and mistakes she was more than ready to get back up stronger and win matches like a true champion.
