What happened: Asad Umar, The Federal Minister for Planning, has announced that Pakistanis who have to travel abroad especially for work or studies will now be able to get the two-dose Moderna Vaccine. Some countries have not yet accepted the Chinese vaccines, and Moderna is now the third non-Chinese vaccine available in Pakistan.

Details: 2.5 million doses of Moderna vaccine that arrived in Pakistan yesterday were donated by the US government as part of the COVAX programme.
“The United States Mission to Pakistan is pleased to share these safe and effective vaccines with the people of Pakistan,” US Embassy Chargé d’affaires Angela P Aggeler had said in the statement.
