Pakistani pilgrims arrested for ‘raising slogans’ & ‘violating sanctity’ of Masjid-e-Nabwi 

What happened: On April 29, the Saudi authorities apprehended the Pakistani pilgrims. They chanted slogans of  “ghaddar ghaddar and chor chor”  at federal cabinet members at the Masjid-e-Nabwi in Madina. Saudi EMbassy spokesperson in Islamabad confirmed,  “Some of the Pakistani protestors were arrested for violating the regulations and disrespecting the holy place.”  Details: At the same time, names of close friends of Imran Khan have surfaced on social media among the protestors, chanting hatred slogans against Mariyum Aurangzeb and other cabinet members. However, Pakistan’s interior minister Rana Sanaullah had also stated that they would request the Saudi Arabia administration to take strict action against the people who violated the sanctity of the holiest place for Muslims worldwide.  More: Twitterati and the interior minister also claimed that the protest and chanting slogans were pre-planned in Pakistan by the former interior minister Sheikh Rasheed,  “Imran Khan and Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed were making efforts to provoke public sentiments against their rivals.”
