Pakistan ranks 4th in removing TikTok videos that violated community guidelines

What happened: The short video sharing application TikTok revised its Community Guidelines and more than 6 million TikTok videos were removed from Pakistan were removed from the platform. 73.9% of the TikTok videos promoting harassment and 72.4% of hateful-behaviour videos were removed from the forum.

Details: During the third quarter of 2021, The News reported that 6,019,754 TikTok videos violating the guidelines were removed and Pakistan ranked fourth in the world for the largest volume of videos taken down for violating community guidelines. On the other hand, it is pertinent to mention that it has been alleged that TikTok is held responsible for a few deaths in the country.

More:  At the same time, the new Community Guidelines by TikTok read,  “The sorts of activity and content that will be taken off from the platform or declared ineligible for recommendation in the ‘For You’ feed are clarified or expanded upon in these updates.”  Whereas, the guidelines laid out by TikTok applies to every app user and “must” be followed by the users.
