Pakistan Drops Out In Qualifiers For Olympics


After starting the game optimistic in the first leg of their Olympic qualifier, Pakistan lost 6-1 to Netherlands on Sunday, and hence will not be proceeding to the Olympic games

The 2020 Olympics to be held in Japan will definitely see the Dutch partake in their Hockey games; Pakistan, however, will not be able to join them. The Dutch so far have had a 10-5 aggregate victory, and started off the game against Pakistan with a 4-0 lead.

According to viewers, Pakistan’s fall was a result of a slow start and mistakes made in the first half of the game, and despite performing better in the second half, they were unable to break Netherland’s defense. This was unlike the team’s performance the day before, when they had drawn on 4-4 with the Dutch.

Pakistan has previously won Olympic golds in 1960, 1968, and 1984, after which they only managed to attain bronze in 1992.
