What happened: On Friday, Minister of State of Information Farrukh Habib addressed to the second batch of KJP’s National Youth Council (NYC). He said the government had so far provided soft loans totaling Rs17 billion to over 14,000 young entrepreneurs under the Youth Entrepreneurship Scheme (YES) of Kamyab Jawan Programme (KJP). Furthermore, he stated that over 170,000 skill scholarships were provided to youth across the country.
Details : Addressing the second batch of KJP’s National Youth Council (NYC), Mr Habib said that majority of the loans were given to those who were otherwise unable to materialize their ideas due to financial constraints. He also pointed out the government’s recent decision to increase the upper limit for the first tier of YES from Rs1 million to Rs2 million. He said at least 170,000 skill scholarships were provided to youth across the country. He said that these effort will lead to a new era of entrepreneurship and create massive employment opportunities for the Youth. He further added that NYC was a platform for the youth to turn their dreams into reality and there is a need to expand the NYC network so that more talented youth could become the part of decision making process in the country.
