Only two-week summer vacation for students in FDE schools

What happened: FDE notified that summer vacations for students this year have been reduced to two weeks starting from July 18 to Aug 1. Details : “Summer vacation will be observed in all educational institutions working under the ambit of Federal Directorate of Education w.e.f 18-07-2021 to 01-08-2021,” the notification read by FDE stated. Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) supervises 423 public sector schools and colleges in Islamabad. Regarding promotion of students, FDE announced promotion of prep to seven graders will be done without annual exams. However, it’s mandatory for classes ahead of seven to appear in annual exams to be promoted to the next class. While FDE has announced a two-week summer vacations, Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (Peira) has yet to issued a notification regarding summer vacation.
