A recent report reveals only 47% of Pakistanis claim to be concerned about environmental issues, despite the current attack of toxic smog Around 1500 Pakistanis were asked the same question: Are you someone who is concerned about environmental issues? 47% agreed that they were, while 32% were neutral and 21% stated that they were not concerned with climate issues. The survey, which was conducted by Gallup Pakistan in association with Gilani Pakistan, conducted this poll among a nationally representative sample of men and women from all four provinces and different walks of life. Out of those who agreed, only 8% claimed to very strongly agree to being concerned about environmental issues, while 1% said they very strongly disagreed in the matter. Although the smog is affecting areas like Lahore and Karachi more, pollution exists throughout the country, and there is no doubt that the effects of climate change can be felt across the world. However, the statistics show less than half of the population are concerned and there is a high probability that less than half of this number are actually doing something about it.
