One Of The Biggest PTI Critics Congratulates Shireen Mazari On Her Victory

All of Pakistan and PTI supporters across the globe are delving deeply into the joy of Imran Khan finally becoming Pakistan’s 19th Official Prime Minister. Amongst the celebrators is Shireen Mazari’s daughter Imaan Zainab Mazari. She took to social media to congratulate her mother on her victory in what can easily be called historic elections. Mazari has been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan since 2013 and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Central Information Secretary. Imaan who is a lawyer in the making and a writer for The News International has often wreaked havoc by criticizing the motto PTI stands for. She has often taken to the platform to voice her opinion and disagreements with PTI and its policies. However, in the overwhelming essence of her mother’s victory, Zainab wrote the following to congratulate Shireen Mazari.

She wrote:

“From being the Head Girl of her school as a child to President of the Teacher’s Federation at QAU as a young woman; from taking military dictator Zia-ul-Haq to court to breaking the glass ceiling for women in a society and career path dominated by men; from starting her own newspaper to becoming the editor of another one only to significantly enhance its readership; from heading her own think tank to pursuing a full-time political career while being the most involved and caring parent one could have: my mother deserves this and so much more.

I am so incredibly proud of all the hard work and struggle she has put in since she was a little girl to get to where she is today (including the biggest obstacle in the form of her own child who has been her party’s biggest critic throughout). There are very few people I know who would have the moral courage, integrity and grace to stand so firmly for their principles in a country where such principles are the first sacrifice on the road to power.

Shireen Mazari, you are my shining star. Thank you for showing me by your living example that women can achieve everything they set out to achieve, even when the society they are struggling in makes it almost impossible to do so. ????????✌????”

She later tweeted:

The tweets go to show the immense hope even the biggest critics possess in light of this victory. It states that all is and can be taken in stride as long as at the gist of it all, Pakistan’s future and well-being is a priority.
