Ok don’t mock, but don’t glorify ALH either

Famous televangelist and former MNA, Aamir Liaquat Hussain’s demise has divided the country into two parties; people who are mourning him and ones who believe that a person’s legacy always stays and Liaquat’s is a poor one. What does this tell us? That ALH was a man of many talents which he sadly wasted himself. As his glory days were now behind him, in the past few years the ‘trendsetter’ got involved in a lot of scandals and controversies. From Liaquat’s multiple marriages to threatening views on marginalised religious communities, people can’t let go of the fact how, numerous times, Aamir’s actions and words fell heavy on people, especially women, without any regards of accountability. He was labelled a pedo, harasser, a womaniser, rightfully so, and now that he’s dead, people insist on not speaking ill of the dead. This opens another bag of worms for women as they recalled how the society character assassinated Noor Mukadam and Qandeel Baloch, who were murdered in cold blood. It makes them so angry to see that since ALH is dead now, heart-felt condolences are pouring in whereas names of innocent women (who NEVER did anything wrong) were dragged through the mud, their character was up for debate and the patriarchs said all sorts of vile things about them. Yes Liaquat’s deeds are now between him and his God, but portraying him a hero? It’s not fair to his victims who now have to live with the accusations that THEY KILLED him.
