Noor Mukkadam’s CCTV footage: Court orders FIA to investigate the leak
Social media platform run by Noor’s friends, Justice for Noor (@justicefor_noor) shared an update on their Twitter handle regarding the CCTV Footage leak. Court has directed DG FIA, Dr. Sanaullah Abbasi to investigate the matter; how the footage was leaked and how it got viral.
On 11th November, Inspector Sattar, the investigating officer filed an application asking authorization to unseal the tape. The request was granted, and the footage was ordered to be unsealed. The footage was handed over to the murderer’s legal team. After a few days, the footage was leaked and aired on news channels, showing the harrowing scenes of Noor trying to escape. Later on the same day, PEMRA issued a directive to stop the airing of the footage, as it was a classified clip. The origin of the leak remains unknown. FIA will be looking into the matter now. The court has also said that the defense doesn’t have rights on the footage anymore.
The prosecution has also requested to present two more witnesses. They are doctors and will be presented on the basis of Dr. Shazia’s statements, who also happens to be a witness.
