“No escape”: IHC orders to public details of gift received by Imran Khan 

What happened: On April 20, the Islamabad High Court directed the Cabinet Division to provide details of the gifts received by former prime minister Imran Khan by different dignitaries. The IHC Judge Justice Miangul Hassan remarked during the hearing,  “State gifts belong to the office. These gifts can not be taken home.”  Subsequently, Justice Miangul Hassan stated that the gifts should be recovered from those who had taken them home.  Details: Furthermore, the IHC Judge stated,  “People come and go but the Prime Minister’s Office remains the same.”  At the same time, Justice Miangul Hassan made the Cabinet Division bound of providing information regarding the gifts and said,  “All the state gifts should be kept in a public place.”  More: Becoming the first prime minister to be ousted, Khan had previously said,  “Mera gift meri marzi,”  though the latest remarks by IHC have made the Cabinet Division bound to provide details and return the gifts taken by Khan back to his home.
