What happened: A female restaurant owner in Taiwan’s northwestern city, Taoyuan, has reportedly asked a customer not to call her “Aunty.” The coffee shop owner also hung a banned in front of her shop that states, “Customers over 18 are not allowed to address his as auntie.” The customer who reportedly called her auntie is quoted in a Facebook group sharing her experience. Details: The customer’s experience was quoted by a publication as follows, “While ordering smoked chicken with onion and a glass of cold milk, the user, said he addressed the owner as auntie. She ignored his order and followed another person’s order, and a fellow customer then pointed towards the banner displayed at the shop.” Later, the customer apologised and called her lady boss while applauding the food.
