NCOC allows people aged 70 and above to walk into any vaccination centre to get vaccinated against Covid-19

According to an official statement issued following the NCOC meeting on Monday, people were requested to ensure vaccination of senior citizens as most mortality cases were being reported in the old age group.  It was decided to allow people aged 70 years and above, who have registered themselves on the helpline 1166, to walk into any vaccination centre from Tuesday onwards to get vaccinated against Covid-19.  The decision of walk-in vaccination will be applicable throughout the country, including Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.  The centre said citizens would just need to register themselves by sending their computerised national identity card (CNIC) number to 1166 and visit any vaccination centre. They ought to, however, bring their CNICs along with them.  The criteria to register for vaccine as stated by the NCOC is as follows:  Senior Citizens (Age : 70+) – Send your CNIC no (13 digits without spaces and dashes) to 1166 to get registered and receive PIN code. Walk in to nearest vaccination centre and get yourself vaccinated.  Senior Citizens (Age : 60-69) – For registration, SMS your CNIC no (13 digits without spaces and dashes) to 1166 from any mobile no or visit nims.nadra.gov.pk. Vaccine Centre and date will be communicated through SMS.  Registered HCWs – Just walk in to any vaccination centre and get yourself vaccinated.
