Someone needs to tell Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto and Asif Ali Zardari that all the chatter about ‘protecting constitution’ is an absolute waste if they cannot even protect their own people, especially when that protection is at stake because of their own MNAs who brutally murdered, tortured Nazim Jokhio. Nazim Jokhio was a 27 year-old citizen journalist who was known to be an active member of his community and paid the price for telling off the feudal politicians’ foreign guests to not hunt endangered houbara bustards. PPP has a soiled history when it comes to the abuse of feudal authority; it can fight and stand against constitutional violations all it wants, but it appears to be a ruse because democracy needs the supply of justice and equality. Why was MNA Karim, the primary accused, given a 10-day protective bail by the SHC in order for him to return and vote on the no-confidence resolution against the previous government? On what grounds? Shireen Jokhio’s video in which she had to pardon the perpetrators because there’s no justice in Pakistan was also not enough to provoke some shame in the Bhuttos, who continue to abuse the feudal power they hold. Unfortunately, a fair verdict is a long shot in Nazim Jokhio’s murder case as their names of Jam Awais and Jam Karim were recently cleared from the murder charge sheet. When Bilawal said ‘Welcome to Purana Pakistan,’ maybe this is what he meant; a Pakistan that’s still waiting for the void of justice to be filled.
