Earlier today, the court had heard an appeal brought forward by the PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif asking for his brother’s release on medical grounds. During the hearing, the NAB prosecutor had informed the bench that his condition was treatable.
This was contrary to the defence counsel, who stated that the ex PM’s condition was actually ‘serious’. Doctors were present in court to testify that Nawaz was suffering from multiple ailments and his platelet count was continuously decreasing, despite receiving an almost daily transfusion of platelets.
The former premier’s 14 day physical remand in the Sugar Mills case also ended today.
