Naqeebullah Mehsud’s father Muhammad Khan had been suffering from cancer and passed away at CMH in Rawalpindi on Monday.

Muhammad Khan was suffering from cancer and was admitted into the Combined Military Hospital CMH in Rawalpindi six to seven months ago. During these months he was in the midst of a lengthy court battle regarding the killers of his son.

The body of the deceased will be sent to Waziristan. Naqeebullah was wrongfully killed in Karachi by SSP Rao Anwar and his team. Following this, Naqeebullah’s father started a movement for a trial of Anwar and his team in an effort to bring justice to his son’s killers.

Earlier this year Khan had said ‘I want justice for my son’ and expressed his gratitude to those who had stood by him to seek justice for the murder of his son.

A jigra, which is a tribal assembly of elders, of the Mehsud tribe had camped in the Sohrab Goth area of Karachi to stand with Muhammad Khan and show support for him.

Muhammad Khan said the killing of his son had hurt the entire nation and added Naqeebullah’s wish was that his son join the Pakistan army one day.
