NAB Recovers Rs. 71 Billion From Corruption Cases Over 22 Months

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice Javed Iqbal said the bureau filed 600 corruption references in various accountability courts during the last 22 months. “The figures of complaints, inquiries and investigations are almost double as compared to the same period of 2018,” said Iqbal. According to him, NAB has recovered a record of Rs. 71 billion and deposited it with the national exchequer. “The figures of complaints, inquiries and investigations are almost double as compared to the same period of 2018,” he said.

The chairman issued these statements on Friday, during a meeting reviewing performance of operation, prosecution, training, research, awareness and prevention divisions of NAB. In addition, NAB has devised a comprehensive quantified grading system to further improve the performance of NAB Headquarters and all regional bureaus.
