Mother axed minor daughter to death and injured two children in Abbottabad

What happened:   On February 15, the Abbottabad police were quoted by Dawn as,  “Woman axed her minor daughter to death and critically injured two other children before attempting to end her life.”  According to Dawn, the incident was reported in Abbottabad’s Havelian village and another resident of the village said that his daughter in law and three children were sleeping in another room when they heard screams from the room. 

Details: Subsequently, the resident, identified as Khan Mohammad, claimed that when his family went inside to inquire the room was locked, they broke the door to find out that the woman was trying to kill herself and the children laid down in a  pool of blood.  At the same time, the injured children were shifted to a local hospital of Havelian, where a 3-year-old daughter was declared dead; eight and nine-month-old were reported injured. 

More: Whereas, Dawn quoted the incident as,  “The reason behind the incident was not known, the complainant told the police.”  However, it is being reported that Khan Mohammed’s son was married to the woman and his son was abroad for employment. Havelian Civil Hospital’s doctor claimed that the mother suffered cuts in her neck as she attempted suicide. On the other hand, Havelian police registered an FIR against the woman under sections 325, 324, and 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
