On Tuesday, the Rehbar Committee announced the end of the Azadi march in some parts of KPK following his failure to retain his seat in the national assembly.
The anti-government march, which began in the end of October, was led by JUI-F leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman with the demand of the resignation of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The reasons for the calling off of the march were to ‘not cause inconvenience to the public’. Maulana has called a multiparty conference of the opposition parties on November 26th with the aim of discussing the next course of action against the PTI government.
Supposedly, Maulana has invited several influential political figures to the talks including PML-N’s Ahsan Iqbal and PPP’s Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
Lots of debate has been taking place as to the efficacy of the march and much criticism has been thrown on Maulana for not achieving anything aside from slight political relevancy.
