What happened: The National Command and Control Centre was once again made operational as the new Covid-19 wave started to surge in the country. The department has also issued fresh guidelines in view of Eid Ul Adha and urged citizens to follow strict SOPs in order to curtail the virus. The guidelines: In view of the Eid holidays and Covid cases peaking up in Pakistan, NCOC is quoted as, “It has been advised to undertake minimal necessary travel during Eid holidays as the risk of a new wave was imminent.” At the same time, NCOC advised to offer eid prayers in open spaces with a proper six-foot distance, and the Eid sermon must be kept brief, and under-15 should not attend the prayer. Also: NCOC also instructed the cattle markets to maintain proper Covid-19 SOPs in order to curtail the spread.
