Margalla foothills likely site for state of the art cricket stadium in Islamabad

What happened: During a press conference, the Interior Minister, Sheikh Rasheed announced that  “I have asked CDA Chairman Aamir Ahmed Ali to initiate the process to construct an international standard stadium and hotel in the capital.”  Along with the international standard cricket stadium, a five-star hotel will be made at Margalla Range.  Details: On the other hand, The News quoted the member Planning CDA, Naveed Elahi, as,  “The most likely site for the capital cricket complex is the foothill of Margalla Range. To be more precise, around the link road leading to Saidpur village.”  It is pertinent to mention that in late 2021, Imran Khan gave the approval for the construction of an international standard cricket stadium in the capital.  More:   Pakistan’s capital currently has no other cricket stadium, but previous PCB Chairmen and the government had made efforts to establish the ground, though nothing concrete was done.
