Man rapes two minor girls selling balloons in Rawalpindi

What happened: On February 14, a Rawalpindi man was arrested for allegedly raping two minor girls who were selling balloons outside the Cantonment General Hospital. Dawn reported,  “Safdar Hussain told Cantt police that his 9 year old daughter and 11 year old niece sold balloons to support their families.”  At the same time, Express Tribune quoted Safdar Hussain’s complaint to the police as  “He belonged to a poor family and sold balloons on Hospital Road with the help of his daughter.” 

Details: Subsequently, Safdar Hussain, in his complaint at the Cantt police station, noted on February 11 the girls did not return home, which made them suspicious and started the search for the 9 and 11 year old. Dawn quoted,  “He(Safdar Hussain) they became concerned and started searching for the girls and later found them weeping at Hathi Chowk.”  At the same time, according to Dawn’s report, Safdar alleged that Ghulam lured the two minor girls into the Cantonment General Hospital’s washroom, where they were raped. 

More:   Later, the two minor girls were taken to the District Headquarters Hospital for the examination leading to Ghulam Murtaza’s arrest. On the other hand, Express Tribune reported,  “The sexual assault had been confirmed in the preliminary medical report while the accused mobile phone had been seized..”
