Man in ICU bitten by rats bleeds on a hospital bed and passes away

What happened: A 38-year-old Indian man was bitten by rats in the respiratory intensive unit, was left bleeding in Telengana’s hospital and passed away before he was able to be transferred to another hospital. On the other hand, the private hospital in India refused to accept that the death happened due to rats entering the ICU. However, two doctors were suspended from the hospital. Details: An Indian publication quoted the Director of Nizams Institute of Medical Services: “ The death happened due to complications and not due to rat-bite. The 38 year old man had a history of alcoholism with his liver and pancreas terribly impacted.”  Whereas, the patient’s family has staged a protest outside the hospital as they claim,  “He was bleeding badly. The bed was blood-soaked, so I complained, but the administration did not take any notice.”  More: After backlash, the hospital administration suspended doctors and reportedly said that the rats were common due to the drainage work in the ICU. The hospital administration is quoted as,  “Nothing we can do as the drainage work is under repair.”
