Lionel Messi to miss initial matches of the French Cup after he tests positive for Covid

What happened: The Argentinian footballer Lionel Messi and three other footballers tested positive for the coronavirus. On January 2, the 7-time Ballon d’Or winner Messi, Juan Bernat, Sergio Rico, and Nathan Mitumazale tested positive before PSG’s game against Vannes. Details: In a press conference, the coach for PSG Mauricio Pochettino said,  “He is constantly in contact with our medical service. When he is negative, he will be able to return to France.”  Paris St Germain’s forward has scored six goals in his 16 games for the side and the PSG coach said,  “Until he gets a negative test in Argentina, he will not be able to travel to France. So it is all down to the test in terms of when he can travel.” Also: It is pertinent to mention Neymar currently is also out of the team because of an ankle injury. Neymar is also scheduled to return to the club within three weeks. While talking about Covid-19 in football, PSG’s coach said,  “This is the risk with which we live, on a global scale. In football, contact is inevitable;e, we share the same dressing room.”  Talking about the SOPs, Pochettino said,  “The risk of contamination is there, but we take all the necessary measures to try to prevent a player from infecting others.”
