What Happened: On 18th June, house of a Lahore-based photographer, Nad e Ali, caught fire due an electrical short circuit. As the house burst into flames, it took with it everything, including Mr. Ali’s photography gear.
Details : The photographer posted a gofundme link on his Instagram blog reporting the incident and requesting his followers to help him rebuild house.
In his gofundme description he stated, “I wasn’t having such a good year before this latest shock, either: I had not been getting any work due to COVID-19, and then my father passed away on February 3rd after contracting the virus.” The artist is the sole-earner of a working-class family of five. He reported that the family lost most of their essentials in the fire. Most importantly, he lost his camera gear that is a necessity for him to continue his job.
