Mahmood Khan, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister has launched “Mera Bacha Alert”, a mobile application which will help governmental departments and civilians in the recovery of missing children in the province.

The application has been developed by Performance Management and Reforms Unit Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Parents can register a report in the application if their child goes missing by adding their child’s picture along with his/her attributes. The application generates alerts and sends out an SMS to district police officer, RPO, IGP and chief secretary.

The application also aids the district police officer in keeping track of the case by displaying information including registration of FIR, start of investigation, dispatching of team, evidence collection and completion of investigation on the application dashboard.

“This application is a recent addition to the already available Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Citizens Portal and would also be included in Pakistan Citizens Portal,” said an official statement shared with Dawn News.

The idea of the application came forth after multiple incidents of child abuse. The CM stated the app will not only help in the recovery of missing children but also be helpful in discouraging untoward incidents regarding innocent children in the province.
