Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Kashmala Amjad becomes country’s first woman oncologist

What happened: After clearing the second fellowship exam, Dr Kashmala Amjad Malik has become Pakistan’s first woman surgical oncologist. Dr Kashmala is an alumnus of Aga Khan University and belongs to KP’s capital Peshawar. She completed her examination in Surgical Oncology from the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital.

Details: Whereas, she is the first Pakistani doctor to clear the second fellowship exam. In her interview with a media outlet, she said, “My inspiration was my dada(grandfather) and I wanted to become like him.” At the same time, Kashmala’s mother said, “I am extremely happy and I Thank God for this.” Subsequently, Dr Kashmala Amjad Malik, during her training in Surgical Oncology, treated patients who had stomach cancer, intestine, kidney and liver cancer.
