The met office has predicted a cold wave in Karachi from the second week of December.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the country will witness a drastic fall in temperatures from December 15. Severe cold Siberian winds are expected to enter the city in the last week of 2020, that could affect normal routine life.
With the northeastern winds blowing at a speed of 9 kilometres per hour, the minimum temperature recorded today was 17.5 Celsius. While experiencing partially cloudy weather throughout the day, a cool night is expected in the city today.
The weather will remain partly cloudy with chances of rain (snowfall over hills) in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Potohar region and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to the met office. Fog, however, will continue to prevail in few areas of upper Punjab, especially during morning hours that could hamper visibility and air traffic.
