Karachi started off with some quick runs but were 1 down when Sharjeel Khan was caught by Shoaib Malik off Hasan’s ball after performing a little cameo of 19 runs, hitting 2 sixes and 1 four. However the world’s number 1 T20 batsman Babar Azam continued his legacy and succeeded in scoring a glorious innings of 78 runs off 56 balls. He was supported by skipper Imad Wasim at the other end who played a captain’s knock scoring a 50 off 30 balls.
The Imad-Babar duo helped the Kings to post a mammoth target of 202 runs on a fast outfield of National Stadium Karachi. The Zalmis struggled to stop the runs and gave extras while bowling as Wahab gave 2 back-to-back no-balls in his first over.
While chasing 202, Kamran Akmal (43 run off 26) and Liam Livingstone (54 runs off 29 balls) helped their side to reach 191 runs at the loss of 7 wickets . Zalmi captain Daren Sammy contributed by playing a cameo innings of 30 runs off 20 balls. However, the death bowling saved the Kings from losing a neck-to-neck game.
The Man of the Match award belonged to Babar Azam who once again played a colourful innings.
