Karachi blast leaves 10 dead and 13 injured

What happened:   The SHO Zafar Ali Shah has said that an explosion took place in drainage located beneath a private bank near Paracha Chow in Shershah Area. The private banks building along with nearby petrol station were damaged in the blast as 10 people died and several were injured.  Details: Police have stated that the death toll might rise as vehicles around the area were also damaged by the explosion. At the same time, citizens of Karachi are also trapped under the debris as rescue officials help remove the scattered pieces of bricks and building remains. The injured were shifted to Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Hospital, and Trauma Centre’s head Dr Shabbir has claimed that 4 are in critical condition while ten people were killed as a result of the explosion. Some of the injured citizens have also been shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Hospital and CHK Burns Unit.

More: However, Sindh Rangers and Police have cordoned off the area while a BDU(Bomb Disposal Unit) is on the scene. DIG Sharjeel Kharral is yet to identify the source of the explosion, and according to reports, the blast may have occurred due to gas leakage.
