Two men have invented a novel way of getting through Sao Paolo’s traffic choked streets. Much to the delight of Harry Potter fans, Vinícius Sanctus and Alessandro Russo, have invented motorised broomsticks that look remarkably similar to those from the Harry Potter series.
The broomsticks are attached to a single motorised wheel, and steered by leaning in the direction one wishes to go to. The broomsticks can reach a maximum speed of 60 kilometres per hour. The inventors of the broomstick say that it can take a bit of practice to learn how to steer the broomsticks but once it is mastered they are a very convenient way to beat daily traffic jams. At present, the broomsticks are not being sold commercially and are just in the personal use of Sanctus and Russo. But, the duo have plans to sell the broomsticks commercially as well. They are intending to price it around $740 for one broomstick. Sanctus and Russo are hopeful that they broomsticks will take off and people will be able to play a version of Quidditch, the main sport in the Harry Potter universe.
