The issue: Israeli courts have ruled that the land owned in the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood of Jerusalem is owned by Israelis, which has led to demands of 4 Palestenian families’ evictions by the Israelis. Violent clashes erupted a few weeks ago in East Jerusalem, where illegal arrests of so various Palestenian citizens have taken place. Other atrocities like raids, destruction of property, and harassment have continued.

200 Palestenian families are in danger of eviction in the Sheikh Jarrah area, and Israelis extremists have signified that they want to erase the Palestenian population from this area. Attack on Al Aqsa: Last night, a series of intense attacks that included shelling, firing of rubble bullets and gas grenades was initiated on the Al-Aqsa mosque during the tarawih prayers. According to sources, around 160+ were severely injured during the prayers from the attacks by the Israeli forces. Many received pellet wounds to the eyes, as outrage increased at the crimes against humanity.

Media censorship: Palestinians and others have slammed social media companies as the #SheikhJarrah hashtag was censored or limited on platforms like Twitter, where they cited that the hashtag had received too much ‘sensitive’ content.
Instagram just let me know they might delete my account because posting videos of state-sanctioned ethnic cleansing is against their community standards I guess

Many users slammed Instagram for giving users warnings and strikes about speaking on the issue. A user commented how this is not the first time social media companies have tried to silence outrage against the Israeli atrocities.
Instagram is deleting Palestinian stories on the ethnic cleansing happening in Sheikh Jarrah, as well as stories related to the murders of Indigenous women on Turtle Island.
This is silencing & censorship. These are the violent tactics of digital colonialism. #SaveSheikhJarrah
