Is Imran Khan the New Establishment?

The match is on between Imran Khan and the current Chief of Army Staff, Asim Munir. Our political history is full of conflicts between the army and the civilian leaders but this time it feels different. This time around, the power lies with the civilian leader who is calling the shots! The recent showdown between the military establishment and Khan has just escalated the matters between the two parties. The unlawful (as declared by the Supreme Court) arrest of Khan from the premises of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has just inflamed the situation in the country. The boys have tried all the tools that it has in the power to undermine Khan and his party since April of last year but till now in every round, Khan has won hands down. During yesterday’s hearing talking to Western media Khan crossed the “red line” and named that there was ONLY one man behind his arrest and it is the Chief. Now the gloves are off and the battle lines have been drawn! In the past the boys have always won against the civilian leadership lekin iss dafa situation bohot different hai. Iss dafa Army seh system seh reboot nahi ho raha! In the past Army has always played around, thrown parties, and created new ones, the vicious cycle continues. This time the party that was thrown out by the boys is not surrendering and giving the boys the toughest time in decades. Up until now Khan has played his cards very strategically and has outsmarted the military in every department. The whole scenario reminds me of a famous quote from The Art of War by Sun Tzu
“Victorious warriors win first and then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win.” It seems that the boys have failed to read the book which every military should!
