What happened: According to the Free Press Journal, four ladies in Indore, India, sold a 15-day-old newborn for Rs550,000 and used the money to buy home appliances. Her biological parents, Shaina Bi and Antar Singh, were among the baby’s sellers. Details: When Bi realised she was pregnant, Singh feared it was not his child and told her to terminate it. When she argued it was too late, they both agreed on selling the baby after it’s born.  How the police found out: After noticing that the couple went on a shopping spree and when they were returning, the newborn was no longer with them, a social activist informed the authorities about it. “A woman living with a man, a daily wager, gave birth to a kid 15 days ago, according to the social activist…. The baby is currently missing, but they have purchased a number of household items as well as a motorcycle,” said Satish Patel, town inspector of Indore’s Heeranagar police station. What did the couple buy: The young couple’s purchases, including a motorcycle, LED television, washing machine, and refrigerator, were also seized, according to police. Who was booked: The mother sold her infant to Leena with the help of Pooja, Neelam, Neha (a minor), according to police investigators.  Who was the buyer: Leena, the buyer,  informed the cops that she had lost her twins a few weeks after they were born and that she wanted to adopt a child. She decided to buy the baby because the adoption process takes so long.
