What happened: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s police department has announced the formation of a new police force named Ababeel force. In their bid to curb street crime, the KP government has announced this force. The Ababeel force will include 1600 elite police officers performing their duty in two shifts. The Ababeel force has its similarities with the Dolphin force of Lahore.
Details: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s IGP, while announcing the formation of the Ababeel force, said that four police officials will patrol the city on two bikes. Moazzam Jahan Ansari stated that the Ababeel force would operate in Peshawar, with the police bikers equipped with web cameras and modern jackets. The web cameras would not only monitor the movement of police officers but trace criminals. Moazzam Jahan Ansari added, “The force would be provided with 400 advanced bikes and modern jackets.” At the same time, the Ababeel Force will be monitored by CCPO (Capital City Police Officer), Abbas Ahsan.
