In response to the deadly Pulwama attack, India launched pre-emptive air strikes across the LoC, against the militant group Jaish-e-Mohammed. While Indian media claims that 350 JeM militants have been targeted and killed, Pakistani journalists visiting the site found not a single casualty.

Following the LoC breach, tension and skirmishes across the India-Pakistan border have increased. On Wednesday, headlines were made when PAF shot down two IAF fighter jet. Today, in a latest development, BJP’s Karnataka unit chief BS Yeddyurappa has landed into a controversy for stating that the IAF strikes will help BJP win seats in the coming election.

As per reports by NDTV, the former chief minister commented that the party is in favor of winning 22 of 28 seats in the state in the national election due in May.
The wind is increasingly blowing in favour of the BJP. Yesterday’s (Tuesday’s) action of destroying terror hideouts by entering inside Pakistan has resulted in a pro-Modi wave in the country, the results of which can be seen in coming Lok Sabha polls. It has enthused youths; all this will help us in winning more than 22 Lok Sabha seats (in Karnataka).

His comments have been criticized by the opposition party for politicizing the sacrifices of armed forces.
Shocking & disgusting to understand #BJPsPlot4Vote. It is unfortunate that @BJP4India is calculating electoral gains even before the dust has settled. No patriot shall derive such sadistic gains over soldiers' death, only a anti-nationalist can.
