“We have been drinking cow urine for 21 years, we also take bath in cow dung. We have never felt the need to consume English medicine,” one of the attendees said while speaking to a reporter.
A majority of Hindus consider the cow sacred and some of the more orthedox ones drink cow urine believing it has medicinal properties. An elected BJP leader from Assam told state lawmakers earlier this march during an assembly session that cow urine and cow dung can be used to treat the COVID-19. Leaders from the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have frequently advocated the use of cow urine as medicine and a cure for cancer among other diseases. So, cow urine drinking parties are not held for curing coronavirus alone but for all other diseases too.
